Key Projects and Initiatives in 2024

The "Immersed in AI" Program - Bridging Educational Gaps through Technological Literacy, Embracing the AI Future

In response to the new challenges posed by the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to education, the Quanta Cultural and Educational Foundation has implemented the "Immersed in AI" Program since 2018. The program aims to inspire elementary school students' interest in programming languages, enhance their logical thinking and computational skills, and cultivate digital communication abilities aligned with the future world. Through modular teaching aids, teacher capacity-building initiatives, and the integration of digital resources, the program is committed to laying a solid foundation for technology education. It aims to address challenges such as insufficient teacher training, uneven resource distribution, and low student learning motivation.

This program is closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4 "Quality Education", SDG 10 "Reduced Inequalities", and SDG 17 "Partnerships for the Goals". In the area of Quality Education, through the use of Quno teaching aids and modular curriculum design, combined with real-life application scenarios, students are guided to experience technological literacy through hands-on experience, thereby gaining a concrete understanding of the essence of smart living. Meanwhile, teachers benefit from professional development and instructional support through workshops, digital teaching platforms, and lesson plan resources. In reducing inequalities, the program offers low-threshold, easily deployable teaching resources that enable even non-IT-specialized teachers to deliver instruction effectively. At the same time, it collaborates with the education departments of Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin counties to address the shortage of teachers in remote areas, thereby expanding the equity and accessibility of information education.

'Immersed in AI' Program

In establishing sustainable partnerships, the program collaborates closely with education bureaus and schools across Taiwan. It has developed an online Q&A and resource-sharing platform to encourage teachers to exchange technological knowledge and teaching strategies collaboratively, cultivating a teaching community that promotes autonomous growth and the sharing of experience. The "Quanta Creative AI Coding Competition" National Elementary School Programming Creativity Competition is organized every year, allowing students to demonstrate their learning achievements through hands-on tasks, thereby stimulating learning motivation and promoting inter-school communication.

In 2024, the "Immersed in AI" program expanded to 20 counties and cities across Taiwan, engaging 358 elementary schools, training 515 teachers, and reaching 38,038 student participants. According to the impact survey results, the program has demonstrated outstanding performance in promoting educational effectiveness, facilitating large-scale implementation across schools at all levels, and reducing educational disparities.

Looking ahead, the "Immersed in AI" Program will continue to strengthen partnerships with education bureaus, science and technology centers, and schools across Taiwan. It will refine teacher support mechanisms and expand access to modular resources and competition platforms, enabling more students to explore technology, express creativity, and connect with the world in an equitable and diverse learning environment. These efforts will lay a sustainable foundation for the future development of digital education in Taiwan.

The Impact of Program in 2024

Quanta Cultural and Educational Foundation 2024 Yearbook - "Immersed in AI" Program Survey Results: A survey was conducted among teachers and students who participated in the Quanta "Immersed in AI" program for one academic year. A total of 36 teacher questionnaires and 1921 student questionnaires were collected. The results measured on a 5-point Likert Scale (as shown in the figure).

The "Immersed in Creativity" Program - Advancing Cultural Equity through the Arts

Since 2004, the Quanta Cultural and Educational Foundation promoted the "Immersed in Creativity" program, dedicated to advancing art education and cultural equity. In collaboration with domestic and international museums, art galleries, the Ministry of Education, and education bureaus and schools across Taiwan, the Foundation curates thematic exhibitions with strong educational value. It also brings these initiatives to schools in remote rural areas, outlying islands, and resource-limited regions, ensuring that art education is not hindered by geographical or resource disparities. This project guides students from observation to creation and expression through interdisciplinary teaching, "Student Tour Guides" training, and exhibition tours, thereby realizing the vision of "Inspiring Creativity through Art".

This program's core philosophy aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 4 "Quality Education", SDG 10 "Reduced Inequalities", and SDG 17 "Partnerships for the Goals". In 2024, the "Immersed in Creativity" program expanded to 22 counties and cities, engaging 263 schools and reaching a cumulative total of 200,838 participants. The promotion not only covers general schools but also includes special education institutions, correctional schools, and schools for victims of sexual exploitation, fully embodying the principles of inclusivity and accessibility in arts education.

To effectively implement exhibitions and educational promotion, the Foundation collaborates closely with government agencies at all levels. In addition to receiving funding and administrative support from central and local education authorities, the Foundation also encourages schoolteachers to form cross-school and interdisciplinary collaborative teams. These teams jointly design integrated curricula to enhance professional capacity and foster collaborative momentum in educational settings. In July, the program also hosted the "Quanta IIC Awards" as a platform for teacher student exchange. Through the competition, it reinforces the Foundation's educational philosophy, offering both participating and non-participating schools equal opportunities to explore innovative teaching and learning, united in using art to inspire creativity. Award categories include "Student Tour Guides Awards", "Creative Curriculum Awards" and the "Administrative Team Awards,". " Creative Curriculum Awards " includes Exemplary Schools in Promotion and Exemplary Schools in Creative Teaching, along with awards for Honorary Volunteers and County/City Champions. Eligible recipients include school administrators, teachers, students, and collaborative partners.

Due to limited funding and manpower, the number of schools able to participate in the program each year is restricted. Therefore, in 2024, the education bureaus (departments) of five county and city governments, including New Taipei City, Taipei City, Taichung City, Taoyuan City, and Kinmen County, provided direct financial support for schools in their jurisdictions to implement the program. The education bureaus (departments) of eight other county and city governments, including Tainan City, Yunlin County, Changhua County, Pingtung County, Miaoli County, Hsinchu City, Nantou County, and Chiayi County, provided corresponding subsidies to schools participating in this program. In total, the education bureaus (departments) of 22 counties and cities extended recognition awards to teachers and provided administrative support.

According to the 2024 Impact Survey, both participating teachers and students affirmed that the program has had a positive impact on teaching and learning. Teachers from schools that have participated in the program multiple times have provided feedback indicating that students, through their experience as " Student Tour Guides ", not only enhanced their oral communication skills and confidence but also revealed previously untapped potential.

To date, the "Immersed in Creativity" program has collaborated with over 1,300 schools and conducted more than 3,700 touring exhibitions. Looking ahead, it will continue to strengthen partnerships with museums to curate educational exhibitions that integrate sustainable development themes, technological applications, and interdisciplinary learning. The program aims to broaden the boundaries of arts education, foster lifelong learning across all age groups, and advance cultural sustainability.

"Design Learning" Program - Practicing Sustainable Resilience through Innovative Education

Since 2013, the Quanta Cultural and Educational Foundation has implemented the "Design Learning" program to address the growing demand for innovative teaching methods in contemporary education. The program places particular emphasis on cultivating students' core competencies-critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration (the 4Cs). By integrating "Project-Based Learning" (PBL) with "Design Thinking", it enables students to construct knowledge and build learning motivation through hands-on, experiential practice. This program not only enhances learning outcomes and teaching quality but also provides frontline teachers with a support platform for transformation and professional growth. The 2024 publication "The 1/2 Magic Classroom" offers a comprehensive presentation of the program's philosophy, development, and achievements.

The program is closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4 "Quality Education," SDG 10 "Reduced Inequalities," and SDG 17 "Partnerships for the Goals", embodying the diverse values of educational innovation. The implementation strategy includes providing a cross-school collaborative preparation platform, teacher workshops, and community exchange resources. It also encourages teachers to integrate local issues and teaching contexts into the design of socially meaningful learning tasks, guiding students through hands-on activities and reflection to develop multifaceted learning competencies and problem-solving skills. In particular, with regard to SDG 10 "Reduced Inequalities," the program supports the participation of individual teachers from under-resourced areas, assisting them in developing distinctive curricula to ensure that students in both urban and rural communities have access to innovative and inclusive educational resources.

In 2024, the program adopted "Resilient Homeland" as its annual theme, guiding students across Taiwan to explore how communities can respond to challenges such as natural disasters, extreme weather, environmental pollution, economic transformation, and social issues. Through structured learning tasks, students were encouraged to develop practical strategies and innovative solutions. In the reported year, a total of 185 schools, 595 teachers, and 7,241 students participated, reaching 20 counties and cities across Taiwan, including the outlying islands of Kinmen and Matsu. Additionally, a collaboration with the Tainan City Department of Education was established to promote a local seed teacher system, thereby expanding the impact of teaching.

According to the Impact Assessment Survey (N=114), teachers scored above 6 on all six indicators of teaching competence (on a seven-point scale), indicating that the program effectively supports their professional growth in areas such as curriculum design, subject concept development, and student performance assessment.

The Student Learning Impact Survey results (N=561) show that all learning dimension indicators scored above 4 on a 5-point scale. Creative performance and collaboration skills achieved the highest score of 4.2, reflecting the program's positive influence on students' competency-based learning, self-directed learning attitudes, and teamwork abilities.

Participating students generally expressed that through this program, they were able to "approach thinking from different perspectives", "learn how to communicate with others to resolve misunderstandings", and experience "creative expression without standard answers" through opportunities for free exploration. These feedback further validate that the teaching model combining task-oriented approach and design thinking can effectively promote the internalization of learning motivation and the construction of meaningful knowledge.

Looking ahead, the "Design Learning" program will continue to align with global development agendas and local characteristics, deepen teachers' instructional design capabilities, promote students' active responses to life issues, and strive to enhance students' abilities in problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and social participation, thereby achieving the sustainable advancement of educational resilience

Core Initiatives of the Quanta Arts Foundation

Encouraging Creation The Quanta Arts Foundation believes that "creation" is the fundamental value of the performing arts. Guided by the vision of "incubating creativity and realizing dreams", it is dedicated to a variety of initiatives that support and promote original works. In 2024, the 6th "Performing Arts Golden Creative Awards" expanded in scale for the first time, co-hosted with the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA). The event provided award-winning productions with enhanced performance resources and broader channels for presentation. The Golden Creative Awards has also planned a "Performing Arts IP Management Seminar", inviting experts to guide teams on marketing techniques. It not only encourages creativity but also strengthens the operational capacity of performing arts organizations. Launched in 2023, the Quanta Arts Foundation's inaugural "Cloud Stage Awards" was created specifically for "online performance programs". Through a series of activities, including video evaluations, an awards ceremony, and an online film festival, the Awards encourage artists to create exceptional performing arts video productions. In 2024, the "Cloud Stage Channel" was launched as the performing arts version of Netflix, providing a platform for global performance enthusiasts to watch performances, where performers delight in sharing their art, and audiences can experience complete enjoyment. The 2nd "Cloud Stage Awards" revised its submission guidelines in response to emerging trends in performance formats within the industry. Entries must now consist of "a complete video recording of a formal public performance of a performing arts production". The awards feature five categories: Music, Musical/Opera, Drama, Dance, and Cross-Disciplinary.
Technology and Art The Quanta Arts Foundation continues its close collaboration with the Taoyuan City Department of Cultural Affairs to present the 3rd "Taoyuan Technology Performing Arts Awards - Hyper Generate" (2023-2024). In 2024, the project brought together the AI Research Centers of National Tsing Hua University and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, along with their professional teams. Following discussions on cooperation, both universities committed substantial resources to the initiative, offering venues, equipment, and technical interpreters free of charge. This support enabled participating teams to acquire extensive knowledge of equipment and operational techniques within a short timeframe. As part of its promotion efforts, the Technology and Art Guidance Team incubated the 2nd Technology Performing Arts Awards First Prize winner, Tian Zi-Ping, whose work "Weightlessness Project III: Folding Oscillation" went on in 2024 to secure performance opportunities at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts' U-108 Space and the Shuiyuan Theater. The Second Prize winner in the Emerging Talent Category, Xue Zu-Jie, was invited for the first time to perform his award-winning work "Zone" at the "Projector Video Art Festival" in Madrid, Spain, under the recommendation and assistance of the Quanta Arts Foundation, receiving favorable reviews.
Overseas Exchange The Quanta Arts Foundation actively engages in cross-strait and international exchange, facilitating opportunities for Taiwanese teams to participate in major cultural and artistic events in Mainland China and around the world. Since 2012, the Foundation's footprint has extended to Beijing, Shanghai, and Hefei in Mainland China; Malaysia; Singapore; Daegu in South Korea; and Tokyo, Osaka, and Kobe in Japan. In addition to mutual visits and exchanges, it has participated in drama festivals, small theater arts festivals, performance trade fairs in Shanghai, Hefei, and the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region, as well as round table forums, art expos, musical theater festivals, and technology festivals. To invigorate the performing arts market and promote cultural exchange, the Quanta Arts Foundation invited distinguished guests from three organizations-China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd., CPAA Theatres Development Co., Ltd., and Banlam Grand Theater Management Co., Ltd.-to form the "Taiwan Cultural and Creative Visit Delegation" for an exchange visit to Taiwan in October 2024. On October 29, the Foundation hosted the "Golden Creative Awards and Taiwan Original Selected Works Promotion Conference" at Quanta Arts Hall, featuring 10 promotion teams delivering engaging presentations and showcasing their works. This cross-strait performing arts exchange created valuable opportunities for outstanding productions to reach broader and more diverse audiences.
Talent Development Based on the dual approach of talent development and encouraging creative works, starting from April 2024, the Foundation undertook the "2024 Taichung Arts and Cultural Venues Operational Upgrade Project" for the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Taichung City Government. This project successively implemented press conferences, training courses for theater personnel, the Taichung Performing Arts Incubation Program, and the Taichung Performing Arts Venue Upgrade-Performance Submission Plan, etc. In the field of theater technology education, the "QLab Basic Class for Performance Software" launched in 2020 has attracted a large number of theater professionals. In 2023, an advanced workshop was added, which also saw enthusiastic participation from many theater practitioners. Participants included venue representatives, stage managers, lighting and sound designers, and senior theater technicians, as well as trainees new to the field. This demonstrates the course's high practicality and broad appeal, with unanimous praise from the participants. In 2024, the Quanta Arts Foundation continued to organize the "QLab Basic Class and Workshop," with the goal of offering a professional platform for more theater professionals to refine their skills and pursue continuous learning. In addition, the inaugural "Ready for Audition: Musical Theatre Audition Workshop" held in 2023 received high praise from students, instructors, guest judges, and special guests. For the 2024 academic year, the program has specially invited Tseng Hui-Cheng, the director of the acclaimed musical "Don't Cry, Dancing Girls", to serve as the chief instructor. The course covered resume review, personal profile photography, audition video production, as well as training in acting and vocal techniques. It comprehensively simulated the actual audition process, helping participants discover and showcase their strengths, enabling them to approach performing arts auditions in peak condition and seize ideal opportunities.
Arts and Media Arts and culture coverage in domestic media has continued to decline, with many sections shrinking or disappearing altogether. The Quanta Arts Foundation aims to establish a digital platform that integrates technology and arts media, providing a voice for the performing arts community while gradually advancing toward a society of cultural equity. The "AQ Here We Art" is hosted on the official website of the Quanta Arts Foundation, serving as an extension of the site's functions. It integrates the Foundation's self-managed media platforms, including its Facebook fan page, YouTube channel, e-newsletter, and official LINE account. AQ serves as a real-time, diverse, wide-reaching, and in-depth media platform that delivers first-hand information on the performing arts to its readers. By the end of 2024, the Facebook fan page of "AQ Here We Art" surpassed 50,000 followers, marking a key milestone in its development. Following the official launch of the "AQ Here We Art" LINE official account in July 2024, the platform quickly gained over 700 members. Through this newly established social media channel, daily highlights and updates in the arts and culture sector are delivered directly to members, effectively reaching those with a passion for the performing arts.

5.3 Caring Activities at Each Location

The Quanta Group, through its various local charity clubs and CSR teams, has long been committed to issues such as educational equity, elderly care, support for disadvantaged groups, child development, and community sustainability. The group demonstrates deep and sustained public welfare engagement through diverse approaches including material donations, on-site accompaniment, facility repairs, community participation, and educational advocacy. These efforts not only fulfill its corporate social responsibility but also actively strengthen positive connections with local communities. In early April 2024, when the strong earthquake struck Taiwan, Quanta Computer demonstrated a high level of corporate social responsibility by donating NT$50 million to support disaster relief and post-disaster reconstruction. This contribution helped affected residents overcome difficulties and rebuild their homes, reflecting the Company's care and commitment to society through concrete actions.

Support for Education in Rural Areas and Enhancement of Learning Resources

In 2024, the QSMC Charity Club, guided by its mission of "comprehensive coverage and targeted assistance", visited Fajie Street Middle School in Zhaotong City, Yiliang County, Yunnan Province, China, donating 600 sets of desks and chairs valued at approximately NT$150,000, to enhance the teaching environment in the remote rural area. Volunteers traveled to the site to interact and engage with the students. In addressing the challenge of limited educational resources in rural areas, the Company also upholds the philanthropic belief that "those who give love receive love in return", demonstrating a steadfast commitment to educational equity and generational responsibility.

The QMB CSR team carried out campus renovation and teacher-student engagement activities at Ban Hang Sung School in Thailand, focusing on enhancing safety and cleanliness in the learning environment for children of foreign migrant workers. These improvements aimed to boost students' motivation to learn while elevating the overall quality of the school environment. At the same time, employees and children participated together in group recreational activities. Through an edutainment approach, these activities fostered students' sense of participation and interest in learning, while strengthening the emotional connection between the Company and the school community.

Since 2010, the QSMC Charity Club has extended its outreach to regions including Heilongjiang, Gansu, Guizhou, Hubei, Anhui, Chongqing, and Yunnan, completing more than 13 educational donation projects in provinces beyond its own. It has also continued to provide care and services at nursing homes and welfare institutions across these areas. To date, the cumulative value of donated educational resources has reached several million New Taiwan dollars (NT$). In June 2024, the team visited the Fang-Song Street Nursing Home to conduct companionship activities for the elderly, including bracelet making, manicures, massages, haircuts, and interactive talent performances, fostering closer community connections.

The QCMC Heart-to-Heart Society organized the "Warm-Hearted Respect and Infinite Care for the Elderly" donation campaign to address the shortage of daily necessities at the local nursing home. The initiative involved on-site visits and comprehensive needs assessments. A total of 63 donation packages were distributed, containing practical daily necessities such as cotton-padded jackets, wool hats, cotton socks, cotton slippers, towels, tissue paper, laundry detergent, cooking oil, rice, flour and other food supplies, to help improve the quality of life for the elderly. This event mobilized a total of 18 employee volunteers who participated in organizing and distributing supplies. Through personal companionship and attentive listening, they made the elderly feel genuinely cared for and warmly supported.

Care for Children with Special Needs and Promotion of Inclusive Education

For the sixth consecutive year, the QCMC Heart-to-Heart Society visited the Chongqing Le Yi Integrated Rehabilitation Center on the eve of Children's Day to care for children with autism. A total of 40 sets of snacks and stationery were donated; alongside physical games and music rhythm activities designed to promote interpersonal interaction and stimulate sensory integration. This initiative reflects the organization's understanding and support of diverse communities and its commitment to fostering a friendly, inclusive environment for children with special needs through tangible actions.

Support for the Disadvantaged and Health Promotion

The QMB CSR team carried out multiple donation initiatives at elementary schools and social welfare organizations in the vicinity of its Thailand factory. Donations included drinking water, rice, salt, sugar, and other necessities, with a total annual value of THB 150,000. Volunteers personally delivered the supplies and engaged with the community, underscoring the Company's commitment to fostering mutual prosperity with the communities it serves.

Guided by on-site assessments and community needs, the QSMC Charity Club ensures that every aspect-from selecting donated materials to designing engagement activities prioritizes both the well-being and tangible benefits of recipients. This approach embodies its public welfare philosophy of "addressing real needs and placing warmth first". In 2024, the Company organized more than ten local public welfare initiatives, encompassing a diverse range of themes, including charitable tree planting, International Women's Day celebrations, World Reading Day promotions, anti-smoking advocacy and safe cosmetics education, the Market Supervision Bureau's "Individual Service Month" campaign, and the annual voluntary blood donation campaign.
