Occupational Safety and Health Policy

“Adhere to regulations, manage risk, ensure full participation, improve communication, continuous improvement, zero hazards.”

  • Continue to improve occupational safety and health
  • Implement risk management
  • Strengthen employee training and responsiveness
  • Encourage all employees to participate
  • Comply with safety regulations to protect employees’ health
  • Strengthen employees' awareness, responsibility, and commitment to occupational safety and health.

The following criteria are used to demonstrate outcomes in occupational safety and health.

  • Potential health and safety hazards (e.g., chemical, electrical, and other energy, fire, vehicle, and fall hazards) that employees may encounter should be identified, evaluated, and controlled through proper design, engineering and management controls, preventive maintenance and safe work processes, and ongoing safety training. Mitigation should be conducted using “hierarchical controls” (including elimination of hazards, use of alternative processes and materials, etc.), and employees should be both provided with suitable, well-maintained personal protective equipment as well as continuous training and education on potential risks. Reasonable measures must be taken to ensure pregnant and breastfeeding women are not within highly hazardous work environments.
  • Potential emergencies and events should be identified and evaluated. In addition, hazards to life, environment, and property should be reduced by implementing emergency response programs and procedures which include emergency reporting, personnel notification, evacuation procedures, worker training and drills, proper fire detection and fire suppression equipment, adequate escape facilities, and recovery plans.
  • Procedures and structures should be in place to prevent, manage, track, and report workplace injuries and occupational diseases. These including provisions to encourage employees to report such incidences; categorize and record incidents of workplace injuries and occupational diseases; provide necessary treatment; investigate cases and take corrective action to address root causes, and assist employees in returning to work.
  • Employee exposure to chemical, biological, and physical substances should be identified, evaluated, and managed. When engineering techniques and management are insufficient to address hazards, employees should be provided with the appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Hazards associated with heavy manual labor should be identified, evaluated, and controlled. These hazards include manual lifting of materials or repeated lifting of heavy objects, prolonged standing, and highly repetitive or intense assembly work.
  • The safety risks associated with production equipment and other types of machinery must be evaluated. To protect employees from potential machine-related injuries, it is necessary to provide and maintain physical guards, interlocking devices, and barriers in order.
  • Employees have access to clean restrooms, clean drinking water, and clean food. Dormitories provided to employees must be clean and safe, with sufficient lighting and hot water for bathing, adequate ventilation, a moderate amount of private and storage space, and adequate emergency exits.
  • Provide employees with occupational health and safety information and training in the language they speak or understand to help them identify all workplace hazards to which they are exposed to, such as mechanical, electrical, chemical, fire, and physical hazards. Post health and safety-related information in a conspicuous place in the workplace, or place it in a location where employees can clearly see and access it. Regularly train all employees before and after they commence work. Employees should be encouraged to report any health and safety concerns without fear of reprisals.
  • Carry out various health promotion activities to enhance employees' health awareness.
