Quanta Computer Net-Zero Emissions Climate Declaration
Quanta Computer Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company" or "Quanta") is committed to becoming a leader in climate action, actively addressing the global challenge of climate change. We pledge to take science-based actions in support of the goals of the Paris Agreement, striving to limit global warming to within 1.5°C and to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
To comprehensively reduce our carbon footprint, our net-zero emissions commitment encompasses both our own operations and the entire value chain. We pledge to achieve the following targets by 2030: a 42% reduction in Scope 1 (direct emissions from owned or controlled sources) and Scope 2 (indirect emissions from purchased electricity) emissions compared to 2022 levels, and a 25% reduction in Scope 3 emissions (including those from our supply chain and product use). We aim to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. Additionally, we have set a goal to use 50% renewable energy across the Group by 2030, progressing toward 100% renewable energy usage.
Quanta continues to implement the following measures to support the achievement of the net-zero targets:
- Climate and Nature Risk Management: Conduct regular assessments of climate and nature-related risks to understand the dependencies, impacts, risks, and opportunities associated with our operations and supply chain. Based on these insights, we adjust our strategies and action plans accordingly.
- Greenhouse Gas Inventory and Reduction: Conduct annual internal greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories to accurately track emission levels, and develop concrete carbon reduction strategies and measures based on the results.
- Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Actions: Continuously enhance energy- conservation and carbon-reduction initiatives, using the ISO 50001 energy management standard as a benchmark to optimize production and operational processes, thereby reducing energy consumption and carbon emission intensity.
- Renewable Energy Adoption: Accelerate the implementation of renewable energy projects to increase the proportion of clean energy used, enabling a comprehensive green transformation of electricity supply.
- Supply Chain Carbon Reduction CollaborationThe Company actively collaborates with suppliers to promote low-carbon transformation. We require supply chain partners to participate in carbon emissions inventories and reduction programs, and we support them in enhancing their energy efficiency and carbon management capabilities. We integrate carbon reduction performance and sustainability metrics into our supplier assessment and procurement processes to drive collective progress toward sustainability goals.
- Net-Zero Commitment and Engagement: In response to our net-zero emissions pledge, we will phase out fossil fuel dependency by 2050 and refrain from supporting lobbying activities that oppose climate regulations.
- SBTi-Validated Targets and Annual Emission Reduction Progress:Quanta’s 2030 and 2050 climate targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in 2024, confirming that our medium- and long-term decarbonization pathway aligns with the 1.5°C science-based trajectory. We continue to review our annual progress along this pathway and have achieved the reduction levels required under SBTi’s target framework. Based on market-based calculations, our 2024 Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions decreased by 10.5% compared with the 2022 base year, indicating that the company is continuing to advance toward its 2030 reduction goals and steadily progressing toward the 2050 net-zero ambition.
